 | Commitment Ceremony

| Rob and I have been together since 1996 and we are still going strong. For our 5th anniversary, we decided to have a commitment ceremony and make a public declaration of our relationship. Our intent was to keep the ceremony small and very personal. As part of this, we decided to have it in our backyard. We had been living in our home for almost 4 years and we have been working on it since we moved into it. We had not tackled the backyard at the time that we decided to do this, but we had been planning what it was that we wanted to do, so the work started.You may view a PowerPoint presentation of some pictures from the day here. It was a very special day for us, and full of many surprises. What made it so special for us, was that we were able to publicly declare our commitment to each other and that our friends and family were there to witness and acclaim our love for each other. Perhaps one day we will have the same opportunity to have a legal marriage as many of our friends do.
