An Eastside Park

Each of these pictures was taken on the first weekend that I had the Canon Rebel XT.  I was just out driving around and stumbled into this park and do not even remember where it is let alone the name.

Each of these was taken with programmed settings on the camera and I forgot to write down any information on them when I took the pictures.  Live and learn as you start playing with new toys!

Each of these images was taken looking at the same fen rail but facing a different direction at the same park that I do not know where it is or the name.

Again I do not know the settings of these images.

This was probably the very first picture that I took with the new camera.  This is just a stump in our yard and I was trying out some of the macro aspects of the new camera.

Monterey Coast Images

This picture was taken using the new 100 - 300 zoom lens that I purchased just before leaving for California.  These 3 pelicans were on the rock preening while everyone else was eating or just floating in the water.  Since I was using the telephoto and had already learned that I had had some issues with focus I was letting the camera do all of the work.I am fascinated with the macro capabilities of the Rebel XT as I also collect Christmas ornaments and frequently need to take pictures of them and this was just a chance to play with the settings some more. What is a trip to the Monterey Coast without taking this picture.  Unfortunately the sun was in the wrong area and by the time we had made it to here it was late morning and I had lost the great morning light for any photography.  This did have a UV filter in place.

These are from several series of pictures that I took with the rapid advance and the 100 - 300 zoom Canon lens and a UV filter.  There were approximately 10-75 pelicans feeding in this one area that we found on 17 Mile Drive.  It was very picturesque and many good shots at a better time of day.

These images were taken in the same location as the set above.  No information as to the settings I used.  This image was from the town of Monterey as we were walking along an area that was close to the beach.  But there was a fence that prevented us from getting any closer and this was taken on the full telephoto setting.

This is one of my favorite shots from the day driving along the coast.
